I would like to take the time and share with everyone my 2005 Nissan Nismo Frontier Crew Cab. This was my first vehicle that I bought brand new and over the years have put quite a bit of work into it. Check out my Cardomain page to see all that I have done to it. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2247795. I love this truck, by far the best mid size truck on the market (yes, even better the Toyota Taco).

After all the work I put into my truck, it was still missing something. A supercharger. If you take a bad *** truck and through a blower on it, what do you have? My dream truck. A year and a half ago Stillen released the supercharger kit for the Nissan VDQ40 motor (Frontier's, Xterra's and Pathfinders) and I have wanted one since day one. After over a year of saving and countless hours of convincing the wife that this something that I need, the day has come.

This is a water to air intercooled supercharger kit that "claims" to add 93 HP to the wheels and over 85 lbs of Torque on a completely stock vehicle. I should see some larger gains due to the addition of my JBA Headers an 3" Gibson Exhaust. I will loose some power due to the elevation and my larger rims and tire. I due plan on getting the truck dyno'd and for the sake of science, I plan on putting on my stockers. This a dyno chart from Stillen with a SC kit on a stock Frontier.
[attachment=187:SC_HP_DYNO.jpg]
This thing is going to haul ***. There is a video of a this kit being installed on a Pathfinders for Nissan Sport Magazine and has some really interesting stats.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWcwuzRJlYw. In this video the editor of the mag, gets a 0-60 time of about 5.5 seconds and a 1/4 mile time ot 15.01 seconds at 90mph beating out a SRT4. This was with no exhaust or headers. The kit is hear and will be installed on Feb 11th. I will be sure to keep this thread upadated as long as there is enough interest. SO, let me know if you want to know more.

I too really like the Frontier. While I was in college, a friend of mine had like a '99 or 2000 Frontier with just the extended cab (not the crew cab like yours). We took that thing all over the mountains and it never complained. His truck had nothing special on it except for some BFG All Terrain tires (you see them on lots of SUV's and trucks on the road- in fact, your truck has them). When I graduated college, I really wanted to buy one of my own. But I moved to Wichita, KS and there really is no place to take a truck out there so I stuck with cars.
Very cool truck though!
How's the backseat in those things? Does it compare to a compact car (like a Protege)? Can you carry 4 adults without having to move the front seats up at all?

That's a nice truck. I liked the old Tacoma crew cab, but not the new one. Too big for me. I've always liked the Frontiers.

SWEET!!! I remember when Stillen release this kit. Told the wife I wanted to get a Pathfinder and S/C it!!! Sadly she said no. :( Very interested in your results and reviews. Should be able to smoke your tires all day long with the power and light weight over the rear wheels.
Damn, that's gonna be badass. How will it feel to have a truck that's faster than the Speed6????

The back seat is not bad, by all means I would want to take a cross country road trip in the back seat of a Frontier but it gets the job done. If you are under 5'10" it is great but any taller your knees are in your chest. I do think that it is a little better that a Protege simply because you sit a little more upright.

I am to, but trying not get my hopes up. I do know that Stillen does over inflate their stats and I am going to be running at our elevation, plus I have larger that stock tires. Regardless, I should still see a big gain but nothing like a twin turbo kit. 400WHP, WOW!!!

Thanks. I'm excited for my build also. However I think a S/C Frontier would be a blast to drive. A sleeper for sure!!! Do they offer smaller pullies to run more boost? You can get away with more boost cause of the elevation. Any type of EMS needed to tune? Any other supporting mods needed for the kit? IE: My JWT kits is a bolt on but might as well upgrade the injectors and EMS during the build. When/where do you plan to dyno? If I'm home would love to be there.

The one down side of the Stillen Kit is that because they will warranty your motor for 36K miles after you put on the supercharger, they do not want you to change a thing. SO, no upgraded pullies (yet, I have heard rummors of an 8 psi pulley but you must sign a wavier), and the no tuning ability's. They say they do all the tuning for you but I sure it is nothing like it could be. The kit will be installed on Feb 12th-13th. I might have it dyno'd when I pick it up. I have already done a baseline on the truck, so it will be interesting what I gain. When do you get back into town?

Well that sucks. I'm sure with some tuning and supporting mods to can free up even more power. Is Stillen doing the install???
As mentioned I'm in Kuwait. I'll be home mid-March. None-the-less... Best of luck and look forward to seeing how your turck turns out.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying be careful when you go there make sure they do everything correct and hope to god nothing blows.
Personally I would have had the dealership do it because then Stillen would warranty the work. I'm not 100% if they warranty it if the dealership doesn't do it.
I hate taking stuff to the dealership but if it gets me a warranty on something I'm supercharging that extra 1k for install vs 7k for engine would be a good investment.

Stillen will Warranty it as long as it was installed by an ASE certified tech, plus MAC is an Authorized Stillen Dealer.

Well I picked up my truck today and all I have to say is WOW!!!. We put it on the Dyno and it put out 298WHP. This is about a 80 HP gain to the wheels. Nick said that as the computer learns I should pickup another 10-12 HP. When I get off work I will post pics and the Dyno runs. I was pleased to see these gains, simply do to our elevation and the size tires I am running. The supercharger is suposed to run at about 6 PSI but due to the atmospheric preasure change at our elevation, I am probably only runnning about 4.5- 5 PSI. This truck it really fast.

Well here it is my Dyno Results- I was off a little bit. I ended at 294 WHP, but was still over an 80 HP gain. As the ECU learns with the supercharger on there, I should at least pick up enough power to be over 300 WHP. If I had more space on my acount to upload my pics I would, but it is hard to post pic with only 500K to work with.

I put together some pics in a gallery and updated the start of the tread. I love this supercharger!!! :koolaidman: It is fast. It is like a MazdaSpeed in a truck body, just doesn't handle as well. I would like to go up a against a stock Speed6 just for a compairison. I know the Speed would win but it would be close. If I had smaller tires I just might win. If there are any takers let me know.
