Swirls

I was wondering what are some good steps and ideas to get rid of swirls, there are some products out there that sound good but i'm just not sure.

When I get off my lazy butt long enough to do a full Meguiar's three step, I can usually eliminate 90% of the swirl.

Clear coat in a can with hardener. $20 a can. Spray about 10 cans of that on your 7 and your good to go.

I am just going to paint it my self the right way. It will cost me about $200-$300. I plan on doing it this summer.
I will be painting is the original color: K8- Tornado Silver Metalic

Yeah, swirls are a major pain. Wiping down a dusty or dirty car with a dry towel is the main reason for swirl marks. Automated car washes are another big offender in the swirl marks arena. Take the time to detail your car yourself, once you get a habit going and doing it on a regular basis, it is very easy to maintain.

The majority of swirl marks can be removed by polishing. Polishing out swirl marks without an orbital buffer is a lot of work. I recommend polishing your car one small section at a time so you can see the progress. You will also need a good medium cut polish.

You may not be able to completely remove a swirl mark, but you can certainly diminish their appearance with regular polishing of your car's finish.

There are only two polishes on the market I would personally use...Mothers and Zaino.

1. Clay bar entire vehicle. I usually use Mothers.
2. After that, I used Turtle Wax premium grade polish compound on areas that were wetsanded.
3. Followed by Meguiars Scratch-X on the same area. Scratch-X is basically a polisher, you can use where ever there are scratches or on entire vehicle.
4. Meguiars Step 2 Polish. Less abrasive than Scratch-X
5. Meguiars #7 Glaze.
6. Prima Amigo sealant/glaze. This stuff is awesome. Highly recommend.
7. P21S Carnauba wax. Also really great stuff.

how does this compare to the electric buffer? more time consuming or about the same, how about the after math?
I do use a liquid claybar and wax and get some good results but if you look deep enough you can see the swirls, about 80% fix until you have to polish it up agin.

I would like a more permanent solution though.
